Holetown - Barbados
History
The first settlement in Barbados, Holetown, was originally named Jamestown, after its benefactor, King James I of England. The first English landed in Barbados in 1625. It acquired the name "Holetown" because of the off loading and cleaning of ships in the very small channel located within the immediate vicinity of the town.
What to do in Holetown
First and Second streets in Holetown are filled with a wide variety of restaurants and are very popular especially on Friday and Saturday nights. There are also several beachfront restaurants in Holetown including Tides, Zaccios, Surfside and The Beach House. There is also a wide variety of local shops and bars and the Limegrove luxury mall and the Massy supermarket all within five minutes walk from the Ixora apartments along with the picturesque beaches of Holetown,
